Other types of mines to see are Gold & Silver Mines such as the Llywernog Silver Mine located at Ponterwyd Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, here visitors can experience what life was like for the mine workers approx 200 years before. At the Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumpsaint Llanwrda in Carmarthenshire visitors can take guided tours through the mines where they can see history of the mines firsthand from the beginning when the Romans first mined there approx 2000 years before through to the 20th century.
