L'Escale Chambres d'Hôtes located in the small village of Vernoil-le-Fourrier in the Loire Valley region of France, approximately 18km north of the château town of Saumur. Our 200 year old house is on the corner of a square and the bed & breakfast accommodation is in a separate house, connected to our main residence by a covered passageway.

Accommodation: The comfortable double bedroom with oak beams and tiled floor, has a DVD player, a radio/CD player, a television (UK Freeview and French programmes), hair dryer and tea & coffee making facilities. This spacious bedroom is large enough for a single bed to be added, if required. You have direct access from the double room to the enclosed garden. There is also a smaller bedroom adjacent to the double bedroom. This room can accommodate either a single bed or bunk beds - ideal if there are more than two of you travelling together. The fully tiled bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, bidet and WC. We are pleased to be able to offer WiFi Internet access.

Vernoil has a baker, a supermarket (which also sells petrol), a pharmacy, several bars and a post office. Our closest town is Saumur, which is about 20 minutes drive from Vernoil. Saumur, with it's elegent château, sits on the banks of the River Loire. Saumur is the home of the Cadre Noir, the French Cavalry, who put on equestrian shows and displays throughout the Summer - highly recommended.
