High Cottages Bed and Breakfast in the peaceful village of Congham near King's Lynn. The accommodation was custom built in 2004, one twin room and one double room, both are en-suite fitted with flush floor showers to allow disabled access and are on the ground floor. Both rooms are capable of accommodating an extra bed or cot for children, subject to prior arrangement with the owners. For the business user there is an office available with fax, photo copier, e-mail and computer system available. Places to visit include: Sandringham House, Houghton Hall and the the Norfolk coast.
Royal Sandringham Estate, Sandringham was once described as 'The most comfortable house in England'. It has been passed down as a private home through four generations of British monarchs and is now the country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.
Houghton Hall, one of the finest examples of Palladian architecture in England, Houghton Hall was built in the 1720's for Sir Robert Walpole, the first prime minister of Great Britain. The original designs were by James Gibbs and Colen Campbell, with interior decoration by William Kent. The house has been restored to its former grandeur, with magnificent staterooms containing many of their original furnishings.
